Although many people are hearing the word for the first time in common use, regeneration is not a new word. It has been used for centuries in esoteric teachings to describe the fundamental process of reincarnation, the timeless dance between matter and antimatter, and the process of creation. It is how nature functions, through the endless cycle of life and death. It is a law to which all life abides, including us.

As human beings, we have the unique ability and responsibility to add our own essence and contribution to the ongoing evolution of the universe. We can enhance this process of spiritualization by actively living out and offering the virtuous C's of consciousness, creativity, connection, coherence, care, and compassion through our thoughts, words, and actions. This expresses brings us into alignment with the loving intelligence of the cosmos, contributing to its evolution in ways that no other species can.

We’ve all heard the African proverb, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together’. Applied to our present reality, there is a golden nugget of wisdom in this. Most of us are moving so fast in a system that is out of control that nothing makes sense any more. Not surprisingly, this frantic pace makes most of us feel very alone. And in all the rushing around, we usually don’t get very far. Living so deeply in the manmade world of 24 / 7 has filled us to the brim with the darker C’s of competition, conflict, control, craving, and censorship - and the constant fear that there is never enough time, money, or resources to get it all done. This is our civilization of scarcity, one that feels more and more alienating to us by the day. Even though we are told to believe that things are moving forward, we are living in a degenerative phase of society.

If we dig deeper into this old African wisdom, maybe we should ask what going far and going together even mean in these days of polarization and instant access to everything and everywhere from the touch of a button? Of course, going to Mars is far, but surely it is not a journey for everyone. How far we can all go together within the confines of our body and planet is a much more meaningful question. And it is a very difficult one, as it forces us to question our origins and destinies as individuals, as societies, and even planet Earth itself. Where did we come from? Why are we here? And where are we actually going? These are the big questions we never have the time or attention to properly consider.

As history has shown over and over, when people lose contact with their fellow men and reality, they lose the capacity for experience and thought. Totalitarian rule thrives on people who cannot distinguish between fact and fiction, or true and false. Unfortunately, this now reflects the way much of our world operates. Divide and Rule, as practiced for nearly 2000 years now, has created empires of the mind and body that rule over all life and offer us almost no chance of escape. Our increasing addiction to centralized digital media is making this even harder. The strongest countries and companies exercise power locally at the expense of slavery everywhere. We are again living through a period of mass hypnosis and risk losing our capacity for independent judgment.

Yet, in our heart of hearts, we all sense that our well-being is intrinsically linked to the health of our planet, not just our own country, city, or neighborhood. No one is getting off this planet alive, and we all breathe in the same air. By serving all life on Earth, we discover true human fulfillment and purpose beyond our own welfare. It is from there that we can see how we are all part of something bigger than ourselves. It is the overview effect that can help us awaken and realize that we are already in Heaven.

Human evolution is only possible when we are in harmony with ourselves and the environment around us - our family, friends, colleagues, but also complete strangers, and all the life forms that we depend on that we may not even know anything about. Our physical evolution evolves through countless generations. But the evolution of our spiritual essence is something we can - and must - proactively develop by the way we live.

This involves lifting the veil between nature and mankind, between our first and second worlds, acknowledging our natural being while honoring our supernatural destiny. By fulfilling our obligations to nature, in all the places we live, work, and enjoy, we can pave the way towards our higher purpose.

The doctrine of Reciprocal Maintenance, as put forward by George Gurdjieff nearly a century ago, helps to break down the artificial barrier that man has erected between himself and his Mother Nature. It is the basic notion that everything that exists is responsible for the existence of others. In the case of us becoming human beings, this means that our thoughts, feelings, words, and actions should cooperate to create a well-rounded and aligned self. Creating such a harmony within ourselves is the most powerful role we can play in the ongoing cosmic story. We are natural beings of flesh, bone, and blood, but we also have a supernatural destiny that we cannot achieve without fulfilling our obligations towards nature. As Gurdjieff and so many others have reminded us, humans belong to the highest class of living beings, but are non-existent in the world of universal essences until we liberate ourselves from the conditioning of our animal existence.

Understanding the answers to such fundamental questions requires a consciousness shift and a new way of being and experiencing life. Actually, it requires the creation and maintenance of a new world. One where we can realize our personal well-being and our prospect of achieving real human being by awakening and developing our conscience as the work of our life, together. This has been the core of our work with Joint Idea, Life Works Labs, Love Mafia, and so many communities we collaborate with around the world.

Our experiences over the years have shown us that, while the format and business models for such work is blurry, there is a powerful movement underway to evolve the way we serve all life on the Earth with the way we live our lives and who we live them out with. Despite it often not making sense to our rational mind and ego, the real reward in this labour of love has been to recognize, over and over, that unselfish work alone ultimately makes life worth living. It is what creates connection. We are all here to to serve a force bigger than ourselves. How to do that in a way that creates and resonates harmony within ourselves and those around us is the question we must answer to get to the next level of the game of life.
